First goal Lozano helps sloppy PSV to an easy win in Almere

PSV made no mistake when visiting Almere City. The PhD student was easily put aside 4-0. However, Peter Bosz will have comments on his team’s play. It was very sloppy at times.

His return last week in the Philips Stadium was already a celebration. Unfortunately for the supporters, Lozano was not allowed to take the penalty. The supporters had to wait a week longer for the Mexican’s first goal for PSV since 2019.

In Almere it was a hit. Just before half time he made it 2-0 after a nice combination with Guus Til. The midfielder had given the Eindhoven team the lead after a quarter of the match from a cross from Noa Lang.

Mission accomplished
A carefree evening for PSV, which had not even played well yet. It was very sloppy and regularly allowed Almere to become threatening in the sixteen. It was fortunate for the people of Eindhoven that the PhD student did not turn it into big opportunities.

The most important thing for PSV was that it would handle the blow from London well and not make a mistake in Almere. So far that mission has been successful. Because after the break PSV continued to lead. Joey Veerman scored the 3-0 after more than 65 minutes of football.

Flawless
It gave Peter Bosz the opportunity to change his entire attack and give the offensive players more rest, but above all to give substitutes some more playing time. That didn’t make the game much better. Yet the Eindhoven team scored one more time. Ricardo Pepi made it 4-0 in injury time.

Trainer Peter Bosz is especially satisfied with the result. “Because we didn’t play well at all,” he said. “Not at all, in fact. But we didn’t play football especially before half time,” the PSV coach said to ESPN. “The field was also slippery, many players slipped. That may have had something to do with it. But it became dangerous after every ball we put behind their defense. We could have scored much more often.”

Thanks to the victory, PSV remains clear in the Eredivisie. After five games it still has the full spoils. Two home games against Go Ahead Eagles and FC Volendam await you in the coming week. The chance that the Eindhoven team is still undefeated after seven games seems very high.
