The weekend is full of activities: from crafts for children and morning gymnastics on Saturday morning to live music at the campfire. Tonight a joint dinner is on the program, where everyone brings something to share.

There is a DJ until ten o’clock, a poffertjes stall for the children and a cozy bingo and barbecue on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning a joint breakfast will be started, followed by a surprise activity to festively end the weekend.

Affordable camping

Half of the camping spots are offered at a reduced rate, including twice dinner and twice breakfast. This keeps the campsite accessible to everyone, also for people with a small budget.

Thanks to donations from, among others, the ANWB, the VSB Fund, Univé and the Oranje Fonds, there are extra ‘borrowing tents’ available, so that no one has to stay at home because he has no tent. And the municipality of Beverwijk also contributes to the neighborhood campsite.

Connection as the main goal

For the twenty volunteers who run the campsite, one thing is central: connection. “The best thing is that people get to know each other,” says Kim Doetjes. “New friendships, more contact in the street – that’s what we do it for.” With the sunny weather and the many activities, the first neighborhood campsite Beverwijk promises to be a warm and unforgettable weekend.
