Fireworks sales busier than last year, even in places with a ban on fireworks: ‘Out of protest’

Since Saturday, decorative fireworks can be purchased again, such as cakes, compound boxes and ground flowers. The enthusiasm seems greater than last year, say several sellers, even in places with a ban on cutting. It is also busy in Germany: many Dutch people crossed the border to stock up on fireworks. “It is a tradition that is very much alive among people.”
