Fires again at Camping Emmen in Schoonebeek

Fire broke out three times last night at Camping Emmen on the Bultweg in Schoonebeek, where a catering point went up in flames last Tuesday.

The first fire started around 11:45 p.m. in an empty chalet on the campsite. The fire brigade had the fire under control after half an hour.

Around 00:20 a fire broke out again at the campsite, this time in a tent. The fire brigade was still extinguishing the fire at the chalet when flames suddenly appeared on the other side of the campsite. It turned out that a safari tent had caught fire.

The third fire was around 2 a.m. in a shed behind a chalet. The fire brigade also extinguished this fire.

The police have combed the campsite looking for a possible arsonist.
