Fire reduces New Amsterdam barn to ashes

A fire broke out in a shed on Scheidingsweg in New Amsterdam this morning around 10.50 am. The shed is next to a house, the resident of which was able to get himself and several dogs to safety in time.

More than half an hour after the fire broke out, the fire brigade had the flames under control. However, the barn could not be prevented from burning out. As long as the extinguishing work continues, the Scheidingsweg will be closed in both directions near the burning barn.
