A fire broke out in a high-rise on Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse near Alexanderplatz on Tuesday evening.

An apartment on the tenth floor of a twelve-storey skyscraper caught fire. The fire brigade rescued a woman from the apartment, according to the first reports she is unharmed.

The 46 firefighters extinguished furnishings and were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

Nothing can be said about the cause of the fire, the police are investigating. Dircksenstraße is still closed towards the city centre.
