Fire in residential tower: dog is given oxygen, apartments evacuated

An apartment in a residential tower on the Cenakel in Tilburg was severely damaged by fire on Sunday evening. Several others have been evacuated as a precaution. A dog that was still inside was taken out by the fire department and was given oxygen.

The fire broke out just before 7.30 am in an apartment on the first floor. The fire brigade came to the residential tower with several vehicles and quickly extinguished the fire.

After extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade found a dog in the apartment. The animal was taken outside and given oxygen there. He and his owner were taken to a vet in a police car. It is unclear how the four-legged friend is doing.

Ventilate
Several apartments have been evacuated as a precaution. As a result, several dozen people are temporarily not allowed to go home. They are taken care of in a nearby building. There is also an ambulance, in which they are checked. Some have smoke inhalation.

The fire department is taking smoke measurements in the residential tower. The entire complex is also ventilated.
