Fire in Germany’s largest amusement park under control: “Visitors are led out of the park” | Abroad

During the afternoon and evening, visitors posted photos and videos of the fire on social media. Europa-Park is located in Rust, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Germany, not far from the border with France.

According to eyewitnesses, the attraction “Zauberwelt der Diamanten” (The magical world of diamonds, editor’s note) was hit by the fire. The amusement park itself talks about an “incident” on Twitter. We are working closely with the responsible authorities and emergency services.

The local police report on Twitter just after 6 p.m. that the fire is under control, but the fire brigade is still present en masse. Emergency services are also still on site. Visitors are led out of the park in an orderly manner. There are currently no injuries.

Europa-Park is Germany’s largest amusement park. Last year it welcomed more than six million people. That was a record. On May 26, 2018, the park was already hit by a major fire. There was millions of euros in property damage.
