The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. in the Antonius youth care center on Heereweg in Castricum. The fire brigade initially quickly scaled up to ‘major fire’, which means that more men and material are sent to the fire.
Ultimately, the damage appears to be minor, according to a police spokesperson. The minor was arrested on suspicion of arson. It is unknown whether this is a resident of the complex.
There were no injuries. Exactly how the fire could have started is being investigated.
