In the village of Plesetsk, Arkhangelsk region, a fire in a wooden residential building killed five people, including four children, informs regional department of the Investigative Committee.
According to the department, the incident happened on the night of January 29. In the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarifythat the fire occurred at about 3:20 local time (coincides with Moscow time) in house number 36 on Stroitelnaya Street. The fire covered an area of 5 square meters. m. in one of the apartments.

The fire killed a 37-year-old woman and her four children aged 3 to 12, according to the UK website. According to preliminary data, they were poisoned by combustion products, the cause of the fire could be a malfunction of the electric stove. There were no injuries among the residents of the house.
Investigators opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence to two or more persons (part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code) and the resulting negligence (part 3 of article 293 of the Criminal Code). These articles provide for punishment in the form of four and seven years’ imprisonment, respectively.
