Fire has already destroyed almost 600 hectares of UNESCO heritage: flames are felling centuries-old trees in Argentina

Patagonia, in the far south of Latin America, is experiencing record temperatures of more than 40 degrees these days. On Thursday, this led to a serious fire in the Los Alerces National Park in Argentina, which is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The fire has already destroyed almost 600 hectares and is not yet under control. The Argentine state news agency Télam announced this on Saturday.
