A house on the Metiuslaan in Eindhoven was completely burned out in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The resident discovered the fire in the house itself and managed to catch one of his cats and fled outside. Another cat was killed by the fire.
The fire brigade received two reports of the house fire around a quarter to two. The moment she arrived, the flames hit the front and back of the house. The house is a duplex house and is in a row with several houses. The closest neighbors (next to and under the house) had already left their house.
The fire brigade used two fire vehicles. The fire was huge, it took at least half an hour before the flames were gone. The fire brigade could not prevent the house from burning out completely.
The resident was taken to the hospital with an ambulance. The surroundings of the house are trimmed with ribbons, the access road is also closed for traffic so that the fire brigade can do its work.
The fire brigade then fussed after. How the fire could arise is not yet clear, research is being done. The house next to it and under the address where the fire was, smoking and water damage was running out. The fire brigade had to force the front doors to come in there.
