In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a fire raged in an apartment on the Slotjesveld in Oosterhout. While extinguishing, the fire brigade discovered that there was someone in the home and saved the victim. The resident was rushed to the hospital.
The fire was discovered around ten to half past two in the morning in the apartment on the second floor of the complex. To combat the fire, the fire brigade had to break open the door of the house.
Victim
Only at that moment did the firefighters discover that there was someone else in the apartment. Two ambulances came for the victim. Then he was rushed to the hospital. Nothing has been announced about the seriousness of the victim.
The fire brigade scaled up to Middelbrand and used two tanker sprayers and a platform to fight the fire. That was then under control fairly quickly.
Evacuated
As a precaution, the surrounding apartments have been evacuated. It is unclear whether those damage has suffered. Research is being done into the cause of the fire.
