It will not be on the fire brigade’s to-do list every day, but this afternoon the people in Assen had to respond to rescue a helpless seagull. This one was stuck in a pond at the Mr. Groen van Prinstererlaan that was partly frozen over.
A firefighter had to enter the water wearing waders to reach the seagull. After it was safely removed from the pond, the bird was handed over to the Animal Ambulance, which will first continue to care for the seagull.
