A spokesperson for the Zaanstreek-Waterland Safety Region reported this to NH.
Around 1:30 p.m., the emergency services received a report that a soaked dog was walking along the water. Emergency services took into account that the person fell into the water.
“The owner he walks with on his regular rounds was not there. That was a suspicious situation and a reason to scale up on a large scale,” the spokesperson said earlier today. “Fire brigade divers are currently searching the water.”
In addition to the police and several fire trucks, there was also an air ambulance on site at the Pikpotweg. The search was conducted with boats and sonar equipment. Just before 3 p.m., the spokesperson announced that no one had been found in the water.
