A fire bomb went off on Thursday night at a catering establishment at the Rembrandt gallery in Roosendaal. Deputy mayor Paul de Beer will close the building for the next two weeks ‘due to the serious danger to public order’. No one was injured in the explosion.
Heavy bang fireworks were probably used in combination with a flammable liquid. The damage to the building was limited. The police are still investigating what exactly happened.
The municipality says that the tent must be locked for two weeks from Friday for four in the afternoon. “The possible risk of recurrence and the serious danger that is involved led to this administrative measure.” It is not a punishment for the owner, but it is a protective measure for the neighborhood, according to the municipality.
Three years ago a restaurant in the Rembrandt gallery also had to close. It was then the third attack in a short time at Restaurant Cizbiz Köftte. The owner then announced that he was very shocked. He had no idea who would have done it and why. It is not known whether it is now the same restaurant.
