A fire broke out on the Rozengracht in Zaandam this morning. It concerns the building of restaurant pizzeria Porto Fino, where a fire broke out in February this year.
The Zaanstreek-Waterland safety region has announced that there is a fire in the storage facility. “The fire has been extinguished by the fire brigade. There are no injuries. Surrounding buildings are further ventilated and measurements are taken,” she writes on X.
The renovation after the previous fire on February 18 is still in progress. No one was injured, but the homes above were evacuated. The cause of this fire is still unknown. The police suspect arson because a short fire had already broken out before.
