In his new TV series, Jere Hietala is on the trail of poachers in South Africa.

Jere at Hietala have many hats. He is a photographer, entrepreneur, personal protection and private security professional and an active reservist.

In the new documentary series, Hietala is seen in the role of a journalist in South Africa. There he works on one of his passions and protects animals in often dangerous conditions, as he has done for almost a decade. At the same time, Hietala fights against poaching. Its victims, wild animals, are still also dangerous, and you have to know how to protect yourself from them too.

Hietala has previously also shared her experiences with Iltalehti and described the cruelty and cruelty associated with poaching. He said he had heard shocking stories from Namibians about how poachers had poured cyanide into the elephants’ watering holes.

– There were several dead elephants whose faces had been ripped off by poachers with chainsaws.

Jere admits that sometimes his work seems almost like desperate shouting into the wind. You still have to keep going, because the animals are defenseless against poachers. Riitta Heiskanen

The same law has also been used with rhinoceroses. The park manager of the Thula Thula conservation area, who will be seen in the series Christian Du Busson confirms that they too can have their faces completely sawed off. The purpose is to get the horn along for the ride down to the last centimeter.

Hornless individuals are seen in the program. Therefore, it is not suitable for the most sensitive.

Poaching is connected to the gang world and even to international terrorism. The background is extreme poverty, as the former poacher tells Hietase.

– Who wants to go to bed hungry? Elephants are more valuable than drugs, a man who remains anonymous argues on TV.

He has still stopped poaching, because otherwise the road leads either to the grave or to prison.
