Lidl Germany and the international food organization ProVeg organized a competition to find the best plant-based cheeses from around Europe, according to Lidl’s press release.

The Finnish oat dairy Mö Foods won the competition with its vegan Mö Greek product that imitates feta cheese.

Mö kriekkailainen is a vousto made from oat drink, which can be used like feta cheese.

With the win, the Finnish oat innovation has reached the shelves of Lidl in Germany and Finland.

Mö Foods won out of 55 participants in Lidl’s international veggie cheese competition. In the competition, innovative, plant-based cheese alternatives were sought for the Ruokakaupa shelf.

Lidl works closely with more than three hundred domestic suppliers, which makes it possible to export more than one hundred products annually.

The winning product has also arrived for sale in all stores in Finland this week. A limited number of products are available.
