Finland’s top skier fell grimly out – so this was the case

Cross -country skier Oona Kettunen Disappeared from TV photos and intervals in the middle of February 16 in Falun’s 20 kilometer free-style World Cup competition.

How would you describe your injury?

– Of course the hand was sore. Mental wounds have been greater than physical. I skied in the early part of my life until there was a lot of illness and crash.

The former endurance run talent was transferred to cross -country skiing over the last decade.

He has been distinguished in the academic world, with the title of PhD in physical education. A 31-year-old woman works as a project researcher and coaching expert at the Vuokatti Unit of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä.

– For the season 2024-25, I went to race skiing and for the first time in my life I skied a little more professional.

Last season, the 30-kilometer traditional race was fifth place. In January this season in Imatra, he was ninth in the traditional ten and 10 kilometers in the traditional ten in the 10+10 kilometer.

In the Ruka World Cup, he was 47th in the traditional ten and 45th in the 20 kilometer free race.

– Next season, I will put everything in the game in skiing and then think about which career I am investing in.

On Sunday, Kettunen was sixteenth in the Taivalkoski Championships in the 30km race. He bent to the winner Kerttu Niskanen over eight minutes.

– There was nothing special during the race. Already in warm -up, I felt that my legs were like wood. Then it was a perseverance to the finish. From time to time, I progressed evenly.
