“Finland has treated me badly”

Andersson Peters’ winning streak was broken in Finland. Neeraj Chopra and Toni Keränen succeeded on Saturday in Kuortane.

The reigning world champion in javelin throwing Anderson Peters won seven races in the early season in the tube, pounded at best in the 93.07 Doha winds and came to Turku on Tuesday with Ford Mustang in mind. It would have left for Grenada if the profit had exceeded 93.09 for Aki Parviainen SE.

In Turku, Peters was third with a result of 86.60 and the same ranking came on Saturday in Kuortane (84.75).

– Finland has treated me badly, Peters said dazedly.

Then he burst out laughing.

– Pretty good races without counting. Both Turku and Kuortane have been really bad places for me when it has been so cold.

Peters is expected to compete in Orimattila on Tuesday.

– There’s a small problem on my back, but I can throw. The race in Orimattila is still open.

Chopra in the blow

Reigning Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra threw the lord of Southern Ostrobothnia with a score of 86.69.

– It felt good, but some of the throws were really high. In two, I was able to control the instrument. They were successful, but the weather was bad. The string was slippery due to the rain. As such, it is tragicomic that the weather was blowing when the race ended, the Indian commented.

He threw 89.30 in Turku on Tuesday. That is my own record.

– I can throw over 90 yards this season when the weather is better. I’m a little surprised when these first two races of the season have gone so well. It says I’m fine. This Saturday’s race came a little unnecessarily fast after Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku on Tuesday.

A record for Keränen

Second, Kuortane had a steady race Keshorn Walcott (86.64). Fourth came Toni Keränen with its own record (82.10).

– Good things to do. Not quite a button, but not very bad. Physics, which has been recovered after the illness, can be seen in the number of meters, comments Keränen, who suffered from severe abdominal trouble at a training camp in Turkey in May.

The limit of the World Cup in Eugene is 85 meters. That Liminga mower should be grumpy in Oulu next Saturday if he likes the United States. Ranking points are currently not sufficient for the value label.

– That wasn’t a perfect throw. The pace came just fine and the slipper and support held, but not the best tightening on the shoulder.

Oliver Helander missed Saturday’s race due to shoulder pain.
