For Ville Haapasalo, who recently moved to Georgia, the fines clicked to be paid.
Haapasalo tells Facebook– in the video he published on his profile that he received the first fines of his life while behind the wheel of a car.
– Sometimes that happens when you drive a lot. Well, everything went well, I admitted my mistake and received a fine of 50 GEL, which is a small fine. It’s not about anything bigger, Haapasalo says in the video.
According to the current exchange rate, 50 lari is just under 16 euros.
– After that, strange things happened. The faster you pay the fine, the more you can get a discount. Huh!
– I already paid this fine. I don’t know yet, that information will come later.
According to Haapasalo, a possible future discount is 30–50 percent. Haapasalo also tells in his own words about Georgia’s fine practices and motoring culture.
– You have 100 points per year. If you get a fine, you lose some points. If you run out of 100 points during the year, your card will be taken away. I lost ten points out of a hundred. Now I’ve got my first fine, I’m not going to get any more! Haapasalo decides.
Haapasalo said at the beginning of April that he had moved to Georgia. During May Day week, it was reported that Haapasalo and the film director Tina Barkalaja have married and the couple’s wedding was celebrated in Georgia. The couple’s wedding was reported in the Russian media.
Haapasalo and his ex-wife Sarah Hedlund was sentenced to divorce on February 27 in Finland.
