Albert Verlinde caused a huge surprise by being roped in by Today Inside. The chemistry with the men at the table was good and good no time he was qualified for a permanent position at the table, namely that of substitute Gijp on Wednesday evenings. He decided to quit to work for the failed RTL Tonight.
Missed Albert?
It is unclear what will happen to Albert now that RTL Tonight is being taken off the air. It is even questionable whether Today Inside is still interested in him at the moment.
According to TV authority Tina Nijkamp, it is not the case that VI is less viewed without Albert. “Will VI without Albert Verlinde be viewed less well on Wednesdays? Well, no, not at all. VI Wednesdays are going well,” she says in her podcast Tina’s TV Update.
Great alternative
Wilfred Genee and his colleagues have nothing to complain about the viewing figures. “They had a good week this week anyway, but in the weeks before we also saw that Wednesday was certainly no less popular than with Albert Verlinde.”
She concludes: “In that respect, with a changing composition on Wednesdays – Rutger Castricum in particular is there very often and Wierd Duk is there every week – they still have an excellent alternative.”
