Digital resilience is a basic condition for being successful as an entrepreneur. To further stimulate cybersecurity innovation, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK) and the European Commission are making almost 1 million euros available for Dutch SME entrepreneurs and researchers who want to further develop cybersecurity projects.

Interested Dutch entrepreneurs and research organizations can receive this financing from the so-called Cybersecurity Innovation Fundscheme (CIF-NL). Applications are possible between October 2 and November 2, 2023 via the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

Dutch entrepreneurs, and SMEs in particular, play a key role in building a secure cyber infrastructure. The CIF-NL scheme offers these Dutch companies additional support. The funding is intended for projects that contribute to the following themes: automation of existing cybersecurity solutions, retention and training of staff, safe and privacy-friendly data sharing and developing or scaling up new small-scale cybersecurity solutions.

An amount of a minimum of €25,000 and a maximum of €75,000 can be requested per project. A total of €930,000 is available for CIF-NL, which is coordinated by NEXIS, the Dutch counter for cybersecurity innovation, and RVO.

NEXIS is part of the new EU-wide network of 27 national counters, managed by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC). NEXIS aims to stimulate knowledge exchange and innovation in the field of cybersecurity within the Netherlands and Europe. NEXIS was established on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and is co-financed by the EU.
