The “Bild” newspaper, citing the Institute for Health Economics (IfG), reported that the GKV could be missing up to 25 billion euros in 2023. Previous estimates went from 17 billion – but without the effects of the Ukraine war. However, according to the IfG, inflation is increasing expenses in practices and clinics.
If the financing deficits were compensated for by increasing contributions alone, the net contribution would be up to EUR 537 for top earners and EUR 455 for average earners per year. (Editor €uro on Sunday)
