“RTV Utrecht is shocked by what happened to our two colleagues today and our concerns are now primarily with them,” said Wim Kramer, head of News. “We don’t know exactly all the details yet, but using violence against journalists who are doing their job can and should never be.”
The cameraman and reporter were at the Galecopper Bridge to report on the maintenance work on the bridge.
The items were stolen by several perpetrators. The two perpetrators are between the ages of 17 and 25. The first offender was wearing a black hoody and blue sweatpants. The second offender has dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.
People who may have seen something are called on by the police to come forward.
