The strike in the film and TV industry is expanding.
In its announcement, the Finnish Association of Journalists says it has given a new strike warning. If the strike was implemented, the strike would last for two weeks, the strike would start on Saturday 22 March at 6am and end on Saturday, April 5 at 6am.
There are four production companies in the strike: Fremantlemedia Finland, Yellow Film & TV, Banijay Finland and Nep Finland. These are the largest Finnish production companies and make many popular domestic TV shows such as encrypted lives, waterfalls and heart rate.
The reason for the strike warning is that the employer in the sector wants to pedal the salaries of cultural sector by providing the general line with clearly lower wage increases. The Employers’ Association Palta rejected the proposal for a reconciliation issued on March 3.
