“I have recorded everything during interrogations. And not just me. They told my friend Santucci: if you mention Magnini’s name, we’ll close the deal immediately. And he has always defended me”, continued Magnini in response to Fagnani’s questions: “I went in with a hard face and one of the prosecutors told me: beyond the truth, this it’s a personal matter between you and me. I requested the DVD, but coincidentally that sentence isn’t there”
Faced with these revelations, Francesca Fagnani asked him why he didn’t report what he discovered: “I have time to do it. But I listened to the advice of my lawyer who told me: in life you have to win, not win big”, explained Magnini, who was definitively acquitted in 2020, when the Court of Arbitration for Sport of Lausanne accepted his appeal, annulling the previous sentences of the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and revoking the disciplinary sanction for Filippoordering his acquittal from the charges.
