Taking action upon the reaction of fan groups regarding “the most expensive ticket prices in the history of the World Cup”, FIFA announced that fans of two participating teams will be offered tickets for 60 dollars for each match.
With this decision, $60 tickets will correspond to 1.6 of the stadium capacity for each match. Other categories and prices did not change.
Stating that 20 million ticket requests were received in the first five days of the sales phase, FIFA stated that the applications of those requesting standard tickets will be announced in February.
The matches in the tournament, which will be jointly organized by the USA, Canada and Mexico, will be played in 16 stadiums.
