As a result of the voting made with the participation of the coaches and captains of the national teams, a group selected from among the members of the press and the fans registered with FIFA, the FIFA Best Male Footballer of the Year Award was won by the Polish forward Robert Lewandowski of the Bayern Munich team.
Lewandowski won the award for the second time in a row, surpassing Mohammed Salah (Liverpool) and Lionel Messi (Barcelona/Paris Saint-Germain).
