FIFA responds to Marco van Basten’s urgent letter: we are always open to suggestions | Foreign football

FIFA confirms that it has taken note of the personal letter from Marco van Basten. The world football association says in a response to this site that it is always ‘open to ideas and suggestions to improve the sport, both on and off the field.’

Last Wednesday, Van Basten personally called on FIFA president Gianni Infantino to take action against the misconduct and spoilage of players and trainers in matches. He published his letter via the AD and also told in a conversation about his motives for going up the barricades. ,,Many football fans with me are fed up. We all want to see the ball rolling, but mainly see hassle and bullshit.”

The former world footballer of the year also suggested two measures as a solution. Only captains talk to the referee. And the introduction of clean playing time.

FIFA now says: “FIFA has taken note of the letter from Marco van Basten, a real football legend who himself has played an important role in the growth and development of the technical development department within our organization. Some ideas were also put forward when he was with us as Chief Football Development. They are also regularly discussed at meetings of the international rules committee IFAB, in which we as FIFA like to participate. As per standard procedure, all suggestions regarding the rules of the game must follow the standard processes laid down in the IFAB protocols.”

World football points out that in recent years “improvements have been made to the rules of the game at the suggestion of FIFA, such as the use of technology to make football fairer.”
