“That is complicated in this case because the rail is located on a railway bridge and is therefore cast in a kind of rubber. We must first dig out the rail, then replace it and then pour it back in and let it harden,” ProRail said in a statement.

The repairs will begin at 7 a.m. and are expected to end at 5 p.m. Fewer trains run to, from and via Weesp. This also has consequences for travel between Amsterdam Central Station and Amersfoort Central Station and Amsterdam Central Station and Almere Center.
