Until now, Ferry Doedens was known as a sad celebrity case, but his documentary on Amazon Prime changes everything: he turns out to be a patient. An addicted patient. “This is very unethical.”
Sascha Visser, still known to the general public for his role in Kees & Co, has been working in recent years on a documentary about the fallen soap star Ferry Doedens. It’s finished now. We see his demise in pictures: the actor who once had a great role in GTST, is now busy jerking off over the sink and his addictions. It’s very sad.
Bitcoin addiction
When it recently came out in the news that Ferry had been caught driving under the influence of drugs three times (!), he played well, but in the run-up to the Amazon Prime documentary about his current life it became clear that he is still in the gutter. His manager Christian Looman has therefore resigned, Aran Bade reports in the RTL Boulevard from last night.
RTL Boulevard shows the first images of the Ferry documentary. We see the actor looking terribly bad, but also confessing that he is also addicted to trading bitcoins. He says resignedly that he has already lost 50,000 euros on this. And to earn that back, he has to make a lot of washbasin films…
Bridget quiet
After the preview of the documentary, presenter Bridget Maasland appears. She is silent about it. “I really need to recover from it. We all want to see how he is doing, but at the same time I also feel a bit like a disaster tourist for looking at someone who actually just needs help.”
Aran then: “Yes, that you actually don’t think it is appropriate for you to look at it.”
Bridget: “I find it difficult. It rubs.”
Intense insight
Aran agrees with her. “It is a powerful insight into the life of an addicted man. I agree with you. It is sad to see. You hope to see a change in behavior in him, but this is not hopeful.”
Luuk Ikink: “We also see images with a very fat cheek and that lip is also fat.”
Aran: “His appearance is striking. We also talked about that: what is going on with his jaw? Huge bumps and a wound near his mouth. Where does it come from? We don’t know.”
Cryptohang
It’s a hopeless case, Aran thinks. “His penchant for crypto is new information and that is quite worrying for someone who is prone to addiction. The latest news is that his manager Christian Looman is withdrawing his hands from it.”
Christian states that Ferry returned from a rehab clinic in South Africa after a week and therefore did not take it seriously. The actor, who according to De Telegraaf is also on crystal meth, has no willpower, according to his manager.
Amazon error?
If it is so clear that someone is still struggling with all kinds of addictions, Aran finds it doubtful that a major media party such as Amazon Prime would purchase such a documentary and transfer a fee to Ferry.
“Is it ethically responsible? He gets money for it. And what does an addict do with money?” he concludes.
