Pop star Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalog, says BBC.
Spears sold her catalog for 200 million dollars, or about 169 million euros, to the Primary Wave company.
The deal was concluded on December 30. More precise details of the transaction or the exact price have not been disclosed to the public.
Primary Wave is one of the most prominent companies acquiring catalogs. Previously, the company has bought catalogs from, among others, Stevie Nicks as well as Prince, Whitney Houston and The Notorious BIG.
Like Spears, many famous artists have recently sold their catalogs. These include, for example, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake and Shakira.
Spears is one of the best-selling female artists. More than 150 million copies of his records have been sold worldwide.
Spears’ music catalog includes nine albums and many hits such as …Baby One More Time, Oops!..I did it again, Gimme more and Toxic.
Spears’ latest album Glory appeared in 2016. Since then, the artist has not released his own solo music.
