After Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton now wants to attack in Ferrari. Before the season started in March, the Brit spoke about its way to success.

Lewis Hamilton is a seven-time Formula 1 world champion and does not have enough at the age of 40. After moving to Ferrari, the ex-Mercedes pilot is highly motivated-and wants the eighth title. Criticism from the outside leaves him cold.

“I am hungry, determined and have neither a woman nor children. I concentrate on one thing, and these are victories. This is my top priority,” said the Brit in an interview with the “Time” magazine.

Hamilton also emphasized that the path to his success was unique. “Never compare me with others. I am the first and only black driver who has ever been to this sport. I was built differently. I went through a lot. I have had my own way behind me,” he said and said that other drivers of his age were not.

In other top athletes, he sees that sporting successes are also possible at older age. He referred to football star Tom Brady, who won an NFL title at the age of 43, and on LeBron James, who continues to shape the NBA at the age of almost 41. Hamilton wants to concentrate fully on his new challenge at Ferrari and fight for the World Cup title. Most recently, the former Formula 1 driver Eddie Jordan had criticized the decision to replace Carlos Sainz with Hamilton. A reaction to it? None.

“I never answer one of the older, ultimately white men who commented on my career and let out what they think,” said Hamilton. He prefers to deliver his arguments on the track.
