Fenerbahçe Club President Candidate Hakan Safi met with club members at the Istanbul Fenerbahçe Supporters Association.
Speaking at the event held at the association building, Hakan Safi said, “We promise change. We will bring youth, ambition, courage and appetite to Fenerbahçe. We will start announcing our transfers tomorrow. We do not want to announce them without a wet signature. I made promises. We will bring 2 national players and 2-3 world star foreign players. We have now come to the point of talking about bonuses with the players. So, we are on a good track.” he said.
Expressing that he is assertive about the transfer, Safi continued as follows:
“The transfer season starts on June 22. You can sign free agents, but you cannot sign contracted players. We are trying to make contracts with some of them. Nothing will stop us from bringing world stars to our club. We need to move our Fenerbahçe away from the mentality that has brought Fenerbahçe to this situation. ‘I have men like Hakan Safi on my list.’ you say. Let me tell you, if they will make an image rights contract or bring it, I am waiting bravely. If they do it, I will make another one.”
Emphasizing that he believes that he will be elected to the presidency, Hakan Safi said, “I have never lost any election that I have participated in. We need to ask those who will lose. I believe that I will be elected with your favor on the path I believe in. I only have in mind to win the election. I want June 8 to come as soon as possible. Believe me, we will do better things.” made his assessment.
Stating that they should have better separation with the players, Safi stated that Fenerbahçe has problems both on and off the field and that they will solve both.
Hakan Safi responded to a question about coach Ersun Yanal by saying, “I met with coach Ersun to celebrate the holidays. Our coach is not Ersun coach. He is the architect of the last championship. He is a person we meet all the time.” He concluded his words by saying.
