Princess Amalia knows Amsterdam like the back of her hand as she studies in our capital, but this week Mayor Femke Halsema officially shows her around the city. It clearly takes some getting used to for both parties that there is so much interest in this PR tour, because during breakfast they sit awkwardly opposite each other.

Femke surprised

Royalty reporter Rick Evers speaks of an ‘uneasy start’ to Amalia’s working visit. “Femke Halsema forgot for a moment that the media also came along for the start of the conversation at the kitchen table,” he writes. X (see the images below).

We see Femke look surprised when the press suddenly flocks to the kitchen of her official residence. “Sit down! Can we get all the press?! Oh, that’s something to add! Haaaai, good morning! Sit down! A cup of tea? Or do you want coffee? Who am I going to ask? I really want a coffee!”

Good in PR

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker looks at it with a cynical look. “You really don’t have to worry about whether Amalia is good at PR, because of course she is. I have the feeling that Femke Halsema in particular would like her to be the hostess,” he sneers. Show news.

“That it also reflects on her a bit, while, I mean: you really don’t have to explain anything to Amalia about the nightlife of Amsterdam. She really knows it like the back of her hand, but it is nice for the city that Amalia feels so connected to it. That is of course great fun.”

Billions in debt

Guido is up X a little brighter. There he writes: “A billion-dollar debt, the dirtiest city in Europe, one murder and stabbing after another and hatred of Jews sloshes through the canals, but Falende Femke mainly focuses on her self-profiling by using the naive Oranjes for her own show-off CV.”

Show news star Dyantha Brooks mainly looks at what Amalia is wearing. “I just looked it up. She was wearing a beautiful burgundy suit, but that is also very affordable. Just from Mango. That is nice from our royal family. Máxima does it too; that she wears suits more often and that it is simply affordable.”
