The former ski racer Felix Neureuther is now a TV expert and is watching what is happening closely. There was one thing he clearly disliked about the Super-G.

Even before the women’s Super-G started on Sunday morning in St. Moritz, Felix Neureuther took heart on ARD and wanted to get rid of something that, according to his own statements, “displeased” him. The former German ski star and TV expert complained that this time the route was set by the American coach.

Why? The Americans and Swiss were allowed to train in St. Moritz last week because they had a training cooperation. The Super-G was also trained in this context. Neureuther therefore said on ARD: “Now the American coach can set the course today. That can’t be the case for me.”

This would give the Americans around record holder Mikaela Shiffrin, in particular, but also the Swiss women an advantage because they may have already ridden the course last week.

Neureuther explained: “It can’t be the case that they train exactly the run where you don’t have any training beforehand in the Super-G, and that the coach is allowed to set the run here. The Germans, the Austrians, the French, all nations rightly said: ‘What is that? It’s not possible.'”

Neureuther also emphasized: “To be honest, that’s not good. It’s easy to distort competition somewhere.” He believes in consequences: “There will certainly be discussions afterwards that something like this will be regulated differently in the future.”

DSV star Emma Aicher wanted to attack in the Super-G one day after her sensational success in the downhill, but the German talent fell and slid along the slope. The race was briefly interrupted before Aicher got up again. Neureuther said: “Oh, that was a scary moment.” Kira Weidle-Winkelmann also had nothing to do with the podium. She said of Aicher’s fall: “Luckily nothing happened to her.”
