At the start of the tour dress rehearsal in Switzerland, Philipp Raimund and Felix Hoffmann also impressed in the German ski jumping team.
Felix Hoffmann made an exclamation mark with a strong jump at the start. The 28-year-old surprisingly won the qualification at the World Cup in Engelberg on Friday.
With 132.0 meters, the Thuringian won against the Austrians Jan Hörl and Stefan Kraft on the Groß-Titlis ski jump. Philipp Raimund also showed a good performance and came fourth. The first competition follows on Saturday at 4 p.m. (in the live ticker on t-online).
“I had already had good training jumps, I like the hill and I hope I have a good day again in the competition,” said Hoffmann. He is a permanent member of the World Cup team for the first time this season and has now become number two in the German squad behind Raimund.
There was also praise from former national coach Werner Schuster. At Eurosport he said: “He simply jumps in outstanding form and has a great flight system.” Hoffmann made his World Cup debut under Schuster in 2018, but after that he was only used sporadically for a long time.
