AZ will play the cup final for the second season in a row. The Alkmaarders qualified for the final battle at the expense of Telstar. Midfielder Peer Koopmeiners has slightly lost his voice due to the intense match. “The relief was great, because you can all make that trip again.”
Koopmeiners saw how his team had control of the match for a long time. AZ only expressed this in the score after halftime. At least, it was awarded two own goals by Telstar. “It doesn’t really matter to me how they fall,” says Koopmeiners.
Nevertheless, Telstar came back into the match and an exciting final phase followed. For trainer Leeroy Echteld it was also a bit of a pain in the final phase. “I have recovered quite a bit,” says the trainer.

The AZ – NEC cup final will be played on Sunday, April 19 in De Kuip in Rotterdam. First, the Alkmaarders will have a tough away match at leader PSV next Saturday.
