Federal police officer hit in the face at the Ostbahnhof

On Thursday evening, a young person rioted at the Ostbahnhof in Berlin-Friedrichshain and attacked federal police officers.

According to the federal police, around 10:30 p.m., witnesses observed a 21-year-old man insulting travelers in the main hall of Ostbahnhof and throwing objects at a snack bar.

When alerted federal police officers then checked him, the Polish national hit the officers several times after several unsuccessful attempts to escape, according to the police. A police officer was hit in the face.

According to the police, the drunken rioter was then arrested. It is said to be a relevant young man known to the police. The homeless man is said to have been in a juvenile detention center recently for another attack on police officers.
