Federal police checked car – found firearms, ax and drugs

in Lichtenberg

On Thursday morning at around 5 a.m., civilian police officers from the federal police noticed a suspicious vehicle on Frankfurter Allee B1/B5 (Lichtenberg) in the city center – direct hit!

The officials decided to check. However, the driver accelerated and fled. With the support of the Berlin colleagues, it was possible to stop the driver just behind the Lichtenberger Bridge. He was arrested on the spot.

The officers had the right nose: When searching the vehicle, two firearms, an axe, a telescopic baton, a sledgehammer, a balaclava and several small bottles – presumably with drugs – were found.
