FC Twente dismissed trainer Joseph Oosting a week and a half ago after a disappointing start of the season with three defeats from the first four games. The search for a new trainer then went smoothly. Lines were thrown out to, among others, Erik ten Hag, Mark van Bommel and René Hake, but FC Twente received zero on the complaint with them.

FC Twente was already around the table for the first time last Wednesday with Van den Brom. Because the follow -up interview then took a long time, the idea arose that the club focused on other options, but on Monday the club management reported to Van den Brom and continued immediately.

The 58-year-old Van den Brom has a lot of experience as trainers. The former footballer was previously at the helm at AGOVV Apeldoorn, ADO Den Haag, Vitesse, Anderlecht, AZ, FC Utrecht, RC Genk, Al-Taawoun, Lech Poznan and Vitesse.

Van den Brom was a trainer at Vitesse last season, but his contract was not extended there. Last summer he seemed to work at ADO Den Haag. Van den Brom reached agreement with technical director Joris Mathijsen, but the club management blocked the return of Van den Brom in The Hague.
