FC Torino want to take Galatasaray Angeliño – RB Leipzig’s loan

“A contract is a contract. Gala knew what they were concluding. We assume that the bond will be drawn for 6 million euros,” said Rouven Schröder, sports director of RB Leipzig, to “Bild” at the end of December. The background is the loan of full-back Angeliño to Galatasaray, in which a clause applies from the 20th competitive game that makes the transfer permanent. The 27-year-old has played 19 games, the last in the Champions League a good five weeks ago. Since then, Angeliño has been left out of the Turkish record champions. According to transfer expert Yağız Sabuncuoğlu (“Sports Digitale”), a solution is emerging.

Accordingly, Torino FC has contacted Angeliño’s advisors to explore the possibility of a winter transfer. Both RB and Galatasaray would probably agree to this. According to Sabuncuoğlu, if the Spaniard comes to an agreement with the Italians, the loan agreement would be terminated and the “Lions” would even have to pay a lower loan fee than the initially agreed 1.5 million euros. The conclusion of the negotiations is expected. US Sassuolo had previously also been in discussions, but then decided on Josh Doig (21), who came from Serie A rival Hellas Verona for 6 million euros.

In Turin, Angeliño would meet Ivan Juric, a coach who can accommodate his strengths well in his system. The Croatian likes to rely on strong attacking players in his 3-5-2 system. The former Hertha player Valentino Lazaro (27) has mostly been used on the left in the tenth-placed team in Serie A in recent weeks, but he is actually at home on the right. Mërgim Vojvoda (28) can also play there. Angeliño is under contract in Leipzig until 2025.

Fans have been demanding for a long time that he should no longer be taken into account. Especially due to the immigration regulations. But everyone had the hope somewhere that the knot would break and we would see the attacking strong Angelino. Then one could have overlooked his defensive weaknesses. It’s simply not wearable. And such a condition with an obligation to purchase is negotiated for precisely these reasons. If it doesn’t work, the player just goes back. Like a normal…
