TV reporter and Schalke insider Dirk Große Schlarmann also took this horn on Tuesday. The S04 connoisseur was skeptical after Kramer’s presentation as the new head coach at Schalke.
“I believe that this task, at least currently, is one size too big for Frank Kramer,” he commented on “sky” to the 50-year-old. He was not convinced by the approach that Kramer presented on Tuesday, added Große Schlarmann: “I lack the clear approach and the clear idea. I also don’t have a clear idea of how it works from the hierarchy alone. So it’s going to be very exciting.”
FC Schalke changed coaches 13 times in ten years
To date, Frank Kramer had not coached any of the biggest clubs in Germany in his coaching career. He previously worked as a head coach at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, at SpVgg Greuther Fürth, at Fortuna Düsseldorf and most recently at Arminia Bielefeld.
In the hours after the official confirmation of the Memminger as the new responsible coach, there were mostly negative reactions to the personnel in the Gelsenkirchen environment.
S04 reporter Große Schlarmann also added: “This is the biggest club he has ever coached. A size that many coaches have failed at.”
The Royal Blues have actually often been criticized in the recent past for their high coach wear. In the last ten years, the head coach at Schalke has been changed 13 times.
