One day after the end of the transfer window in Switzerland, FC Lugano announced the transfer of striker Kacper Przybylko. The Bielefeld native comes to the Swiss first division club from Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer, where the 30-year-old signed a contract until 2025. Przybylko is returning to Europe after a good five and a half years in the USA. The long-time second division professional had not previously been active in Switzerland.

Przybylko made 57 appearances in two seasons in the MLS for Chicago, in which he scored eleven goals and three assists. His working paper originally ran until the end of December 2025. Before that, he hunted for goals for Philadelphia Union (40 goals and 14 assists in 96 games). “We are very pleased to welcome Kacper Przybylko, a physically strong penalty area striker, good goalscorer and excellent header player, to Lugano. We had him under observation in Chicago. He has already integrated very well into the group. He is an enrichment for our attack department,” explained Lugano’s sports director Carlos Da Silva. Both clubs have a partnership.
