FC Hansa Rostock presents the first new signing John-Patrick Strauss

Filipino international

FC Hansa Rostock has presented the first new signing for the coming season in full-back John-Patrick Strauss. The 26-year-old comes on a free transfer from FC Erzgebirge Aue, which has been relegated to the second division, and has signed a two-year contract.

“In John-Patrick we were able to sign a very well trained player who can be used variably on both flanks. With his pronounced offensive urge, together with his strong duel behavior, good technique and his running strength, he was one of the permanent staff in Aue and therefore inevitably has a lot of experience in the 2nd league,” explained sporting director Martin Pieckenhagen.

The 13-time Philippine national player said of his upcoming move: “I am happy and motivated to continue my career at Hansa Rostock. I know the noisy crowd from the first leg last season and now I’m looking forward to working with these fans and the team to achieve the goals for the coming season together.”
