FC Groningen has secured the services of Norwegian youth international Isak Määttä. The 20-year-old left back comes from Aalesund FK from Norway.
Määttä signed a contract with FC Groningen until mid-2026 with an option for another year. He will be number 18.
The 1.88 meter long left leg made his debut at the age of 18 in the first team of Aalesund FK. He has scored five goals in more than 50 league games and provided three assists. He initially had an attacking role, but was turned into a defender last season.
By attracting Määttä, FC Groningen has occupied the left back position twice. In addition to the Norwegian, Yahya Kalley qualifies for this place.
