FC Eindhoven and Willem II give up the lead in extra time

FC Eindhoven and Willem II have lost important points in the battle for the first period title in the Kitchen Champion Division. FC Eindhoven had to swallow FC Dordrecht’s 1-1 in the 95th minute. Willem II made it even more colorful by losing 2-3 to MVV Maastricht in extra time. And that while the Tilburg team, which was doing so well, already led 0-2 after 18 minutes.

Of the other Brabant clubs that came into action on Friday evening, only Jong PSV and TOP Oss won.

MVV Maastricht – Willem II 3-2
Michael de Leeuw was initially the big man at Willem II. The striker scored in the 4th and 18th minute of the away match against MVV Maastricht. However, the home team did not give up and they were level with Marko Kleinen and Koen Kostons. Rein van Helden decided in the 95th minute the meeting in Limburg’s favour.

NAC Breda – VVV-Venlo 1-2
In Breda the yellow cards for NAC players Fabio Di Michele Sanchez and Boyd Lucassen were the only thing worth mentioning in the first half. The best chances were for VVV-Venlo, which, however, only managed to find the net for the first time after the break, in the 52nd minute. Daan Huisman was credited with the goal. The Swede Carl Johansson took the 1-2 in the 78th minute.

FC Den Bosch – Heracles Almelo 1-2
FC Den Bosch started the home game well with the strong Heracles Almelo. It was Joey Konings who took care of the 1-0 against his old team after more than fifteen minutes. Even before half an hour was played, it was already leveled by Emil Hansson, who played magnificently. With fifteen minutes to go, Konings was very close to his second goal, but Heracles goalie Michael Brouwer parried in an excellent manner. Substitute Abed Nankishi scored 1-2 in the 77th minute in an unparalleled way. It gave his team the victory and the lead.

FC Eindhoven – FC Dordrecht 1-1
FC Eindhoven had a difficult opponent to low flyer FC Dordrecht. It remained 0-0 for a long time in the Jan Louwers Stadium. In the 61st minute the still unbeaten blue and whites could finally cheer. Jasper Dahlhaus made a nice free shot on the left and scored: 1-0. A few minutes earlier, he escaped red when he went to get a story after an FC Dordrecht player had entered a duel too harshly. Dahlhaus’ goal seemed to be worth gold for FC Eindhoven, until Samuele Longo tapped in the well-deserved 1-1. It was the second time in a row that FC Eindhoven lost a victory in the final phase.

FC Eindhoven still has a chance at the first period title, but then it has to be good in the next round. Heracles and PEC Zwolle are the only competitors, but they are in better shape.

Helmond Sport – TOP Oss 1-2
The home crowd in De Braak seemed to be in for a nice evening, because after fifteen minutes Helmond Sport already led 1-0. The Belgian Arno Van Keilegom signed for that opening goal. TOP Oss, however, was not deterred by this and even managed to take the lead before the break. Kyvon Leidsman and Rick Stuy van de Herik ensured that the formation from Oss could start with a lead. Nothing changed in the 1-2 score, so that Helmond Sport was left empty-handed for the seventh time.

ADO Den Haag – Young PSV 1-3
Most attention in the first half of the match between ADO Den Haag and Jong PSV went to Jenson Seelt, who scored two brilliant goals as a defender. First he popped the ball behind Hugo Wentges and a few minutes later he headed the ball past the goalie from The Hague. That meant the 0-2 and the 0-3. Mohammed Nassoh had surprisingly opened the score in the 23rd minute.

Immediately after the break it seemed to be exciting when Tyrese Asante made 3-1, but the third league victory of Jong PSV was not really in danger.
