FC Bayern | Thomas Tuchel as Xavi’s successor? Wild rumors about Bayern coach

After a changeable start to the season, support for coach Xavi at FC Barcelona is apparently dwindling. For weeks there has been speculation about the club icon being kicked out, who is tied to the Catalans until 2025. Now rumors are making the rounds about a commitment from Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel and national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

According to “El Nacional”, a separation from Xavi should apparently not be an issue as long as the sporting situation at FC Barcelona “does not get completely out of hand”. Barca President Joan Laporta had recently expressed his “total trust” in the trainer.

Nevertheless, the club boss is aware that a change is needed on the sidelines if Xavi does not turn things around for the Catalans, the online newspaper continued. The Spanish champions are currently in third place, seven points behind the top of the table and are lagging behind the big demands. It is said that a change of coach at the end of the season is not unlikely.

FC Bayern: Thomas Tuchel in discussion at Barca

If the 43-year-old fails, Laporta has apparently already identified four candidates to succeed him. “El Nacional” wants to know that Jürgen Klopp from Liverpool FC and former national coach Hansi Flick are at the top of the wish list. Thomas Tuchel from FC Bayern and DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann are also named as alternatives in the report.

Tuchel is under contract in Munich until 2025. It is therefore doubtful that the former Chelsea coach will leave the German record champions after the season for a commitment to FC Barcelona. “El Nacional” also rates the chances of signing Klopp as low.

The most likely option is therefore Flick, who was fired as national coach in March. A few days ago, the Catalan online newspaper reported that the Barca management had contacted the 58-year-old
